In Your Arms Poem by Sharni Baker

In Your Arms

I sit in this dark room
it is a lonely place
you can't tell what I'm feeling,
not even by my face.
I press my face against my knees,
I cry myself to sleep.
I remember the day we first met,
its you I want to keep.
I remember when i held you close,
my head against your chest.
I could feel the way your heart beat,
I think you are the best.
but I no longer have you near,
so whats the point of this.
I really want you by my side,
I think i need a kiss.
I wake up from this awful dream,
it is you I see.
You wrap me in your welcoming arms,
its here I want to be.
