Incarnation Poem by Paul du Plessis

Incarnation

Involved in creation
Yet part of what he made;
Before the beginning
He keeps to our time;
In essence divine
But adopting human flesh;
Perfect in every way
Yet sharing in brokenness -
Ours and theirs.

To severed relationships
He brings hope;
Entering our humanity
He shows the best;
With us in time
He points to what’s beyond;
Being in creation
Clarifies his image -
In us and them.
