Indian Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Indian

Indian

Let me say Indian
I mean it In-Di-an
Not for you dear friend
Not for you Red Skin
I mean it as insult

You're Cree or Míqmaq
You're Mohawk

You have name for yourself
(For your kin; clan; tribe)

To them though Wild and beast
Indian

I mean it In=Di-an
Dumb called you with his name
Stupid has no shame
Gringo is his name
We knew right away

We howled as do wolves
"Leave Yankee; and go home"
They're shameless

Let me say:
In-Di-an
This insult is addressed.

Let's unite
Let us shout
"Go Yankee; go back home."
That of course, means Europe.
