Indian Republic Day,2015 Poem by Dr John Celes

A moment proud for two democracies;
A day that came so late nevertheless;
A meeting of two leaders world-famous;
A grand finish to issues awaited.

Kudos to both the men who worked magic!
Their statesmanship will pay rich dividends;
Their nations have come closer in more ways;
The world will be a better place to live.

Much credit goes to PM Modi first;
The man enthralled all Indians and the world;
Obama's condescension was the key
To successes that came to nations both.

A brain-child of our Prime Minister now;
Two democracies can make rapid strides;
The dream of Indians has been realized;
Two visionaries have made it come true.

Both need to be applauded for their mite;
Two people's hearts had felt in similar ways;
Two nations are now strategic partners;
Together, they will fight terrorism.

But God has blessed both lands with sacred soils;
They share their wealth to develop each other;
Co-operation will both benefit;
A miracle has happened this New Year!

The brothers two can pull off many feats;
Peace better will prevail in this region;
Our foes dare not play cruel jokes from now;
India is poised for prosperity soon.

The joy within has reached ecstatic heights;
There is no turning back from now onwards;
The poor will richer be in future near;
The world will be a better place for all.
