Infinite.. Poem by Sharon Smith

Infinite..

Rating: 5.0

The sun shines on my face
The Son Shines on my soul
'What do you feel now..come with Me'

Oh but gravity be my burden
The heaviest of all at this moment sublime
A tree that stands in the garden before me
Have I never noticed its beauty, its rhyme?

Each line engraved in the barkless trunk..
Each swirl that blends, its beauty unravels
Every leaf so suddenly intense to my senses
A part of it; my soul it travels..

To melt through it, become one in its world
How to rip off this vessel, these chains that surround?
This host for my soul, let me cast it aside
Let me run through the veins of Creation abound

Melt into all with You infused
Oh breath return as I cannot bare;
My heart being broken when it cannot stay
One caught in this cage..the veil, let it tear

To stay one more moment..please allow that I may
In this Silence, this Perfection, this Glorious sound
The earth, it sings to a Song Eternal
The Creator opening up..a door that was bound

This longing overpowers in this Divine lull
But gravity heavy upon this my host
And for now I return..and wait for the Time..
That You come and take me to the Place I love most.

Thankyou Lord..
