Innocent Your Majesty Poem by Pen Anthony

Innocent Your Majesty

If i were to be arraigned in court
charged of neglecting you
i would plead not guilty, smiling at the jury
for i would stand best a chance
of their favour.
My innocense shall be pleaded by
the pretty little butterflies
for many i've caught
set them free with love to you.
The night too knows am telling the truth
for every time darkness fell
and i was swallowed in it
the thought of you
saw me through the night.
The man upstairs too knows
my pleas to be by your side
as it is my prayer every twilight.
