Insect Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Insect

Insect

Spring is start
For return of the sun
And we had this baby
After months of waiting.

With it though come along
What we do, do not want.

Each of us different
See the things in our way.

I enjoyed her bare legs
Two columns of flesh
She ran her hand across
Tried to fight insects
That flew on her face.

Suddenly she turned shit
Don't like her anymore
She was so ignorant
Was afraid of insect…

Did not know what it was
Was afraid of unknown
Screamed and shouted
To attract attention:
"I am a city girl, civilized! "

Wish I had some power
Would use it to lift her
And take her to desert:
"See the life of bricks
That core bone and the base
Of the life you live in? "

Then I would bury her
Exactly like dogs' shit.

I love the desert man
The poor and the cave man
Damn and hell; civilized…
