Is Jesus Real? Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Is Jesus Real?

How deaf has grown our human race
How blind are those not free
Who can describe God’s saving grace
To those who cannot see

Who can describe God’s wondrous gift
Purchased through sinless blood
The power from death our soul to lift
And live the way we should

Who can describe the victor’s share
The treasures laid aside
The house God promised to prepare
For Jesus’ righteous bride

How can man righteousness achieve
How can we combat sin
What must be done that we believe
Life’s golden crown to win

The answer lies within our hearts
Within each secret thought
Within the soul where truth imparts
The wealth of Christ’s report

Do you believe all Jesus told
Do you accept He’s Lord
Are you a sheep within His fold
Fleeing the reaper’s sword

Questions in life our flesh must face
Questions we can’t deny
Answers can lead to saving grace
Or hell the day we die

Unless we see that Christ is real
Through faith The truth is known
We can’t receives The Father’s Seal
To stand before His throne
