Isn't It A Shame Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Isn't It A Shame

Rating: 5.0

Isn't it a shame
That we're not tame
That we must kill
To get a thrill
That we must fight
To show we're right
That we must hate
At heaven's gate
That we must get high
And live with a lie
And tomorrow die?

Wow! Amazing beat poetry. This takes me back to some of the great beats, and at the same time brings up some profound issues that are current right now. Amazingly well done, Richard.

Thanks so much, M.J. When I read my poem Time Was Back Then When at a jazz bar last year, some people were actually snapping their fingers. And one of them stated that for him, it brought back memories of Kerouac. That had really made my day!

Gentleness and truth can be so difficult to find and achieve. A fine poem.
