It's A Mistake Poem by Andrus Cassian

It's A Mistake

Is it true or a myth
one more way to keep me, a string, around your finger
I'm without clues
but my choice is unclear to believe you
Riddle me this
why when I try to speak with you
there's life given to his name
followed by his grotesque face next to yours
I guess I should listen to my brain
when it orders a getaway chopper
Believe me when I say I want to stay in your wake
but it's in your wake I crumble like paper
turn my back to be kicked by shuffling feet
to avoid seeing the betrayal you've dealt to me
I keep telling myself it's mistake, you've over me
and no matter what I try or say
we will never be again
so in response I do my very best to be despondent of you
subtract you from my presence I'm just one
out of sight from the two of you
and you can be happy
while I just stay the gum on the bottom of your shoe
