It's Never Too Late Poem by Dave Dunn

It's Never Too Late

Long runs the sap from the scars on these trees
cuts made by what we cannot yet perceive
was it the mischief of boys and their blades
or maybe the flint tools that bush men had made

For what is the time line of where we stand free
we came through those mists, a new land to see
swirls of dimensions that we have yet to name
this parallel world is, while alien, yet the same

Away from the plagues and the wars we did flee
knowing the future was too uncertain you see
seeking some sanctuary that our children might
come to find peace, that most welcoming sight

Here be the new Earth, which long was foretold
a planet in some place, quite incredibly old
through a vortex we managed to squeeze all our kin
and now we have landed a new time will begin

No man or woman has come without fear
as none could be sure, since nothing was clear
what flora and fauna we may come to see
I think I heard buzzing - that could be a bee

Just one of many creatures our old world had lost
and for some crops pollination that was such a high cost
it bodes well the more that we see and we share
this new chance we have to prove that we care

For more than the moments we spend in this life
but also for others that will follow without strife
lets rebuild our language with no words of hate
and set out to prove that it's never too late..........
