It's Not For Me To Know Poem by Eve Young

It's Not For Me To Know

They say
That if you love somebody
Truly
You have to set him free.

But
Nobody can’t tell me
What to do
If he doesn’t come back to you
It’s true.

They say
Give him time and space
To think things through
If he’s got enough love
He will find ways
To make up with you
It’s true.

But
After giving what he needs
And
He still decides to quit
Leaves you with a broken heart
Would you disagree?
Or just let him be?

I wonder
When is love worth fighting for?
And
How long is someone worth waiting for?
I guess
It’s not for me to know
Because
I, alone,
Can’t decide
Whether
He will stay or go.
