It's Not Just You Poem by Brittney West

It's Not Just You

In this world, you think you're alone
But you are not forgotten,
Yet the way you talk, your voice's tone
It's sounding rather rotten,
You think you are the only one
With a stressful, difficult life,
Let me tell you, you know none
About all we sacrifice,
People go through things everyday
And you act like it's just you,
Well let me show you my way
And maybe you'll shine through,
Live your life without regret
And make every second count,
Low expectations will be met
But your happiness will not mount,
Be true to who you are
And never be someone you're not,
Live free, and you'll go far
No matter what you have been taught,
I am teaching you today
And that's the way things go,
So take this advice how you may
As long as you now know,
So stop acting selfish and rude
Just be the best you can be,
So what if you're not in the mood
You can hide that, so we don't see,
No one wants to hear your story
It's not amusing, it's not fun,
So live life in beautiful glory
Before your days are gone and done.
