It Was Only The Rain
i was standing outside on a cloudy
overcast day.
i was remembering,
thinking about you. i was
alone and then i felt
the raindrops
sliding down my cheeks. choking
back my grief i told myself
it was only the rain.
it was the only allowable explanation.
