Its Happenning Again... Poem by phumudzo mapila

Her dad was shot just the year before
It hurts to wake up and not see him anylonger
But atleast mommy was there to hold her hand, wipe her tears
and say 'dont you worry baby, mommy is still here'

... now its happenning again
and there's nothing she stands to gain
there's nothing she can do about it
she is too young to even try
re-living her worst nightmare
only now it looks even scarier...
because mommy aint there anylonger
she's trying hard to supress the anger
but its happenning again

Mommy left last night...
She never returned, they say she went to heaven
But what that all means is that she's left all alone
She's only ten
She feels broken
Its hard to mend...
So she weeps
feeling lost in her own little land

Iwish i could be there for her
Hold her tight, squezze her little hand
Wipe her tears and tell her not to look yet-because it will all pass
tell her that i wouldl be there for her forever and will never leave
Reassure her that God loves her...
And that this season will groom her to be a strong mature woman
