Jealousy Poem by Matthew English

Jealousy

Jealousy a toll on the mind,
an emotion that is strong enough to kill
and murder all innocence left behind.
To crush youth with such a vile blow,
directed at the heart of spirit and of mind.
Though jealousy, as horrid as it can be
is a rare force far too common
for all to see. Whether it be a villain or, the innocent;
both states that hide in ones soul.
The two forms, both cruel and unkind
plague humanity for the whole of time.
It leaves me here, empty, whilst you full.
Full of all the innocence you have drawn and evil left behind.
One purpose or coincidence i do not care.
To see your arms around another man,
the thought so vile and so unkind
is the humanity i wish to leave far behind.
