Jude 1: 13 Poem by Shannon Walker

Jude 1: 13

The angles are wrong.
That's your first clue.
Nothing, no entity
Can exist like that.
The geometry twitches,
And then you know
You're not alone-ever.
You weren't alone at six,
Sixteen, twenty-six,
Forty-six... you've never,
Ever, been alone,
And then that shadow
Walks down the hallway,
Makes a right turn,
And just disappears
Into the wall;
And you sit there
With your coffee,
Steaming,
A cigarette,
Staring into the dark,
Like it's nothing.
