I am just a role player
let it be reminded
every now and then
the path to 'work'
often infested with problems
pertaining to me
my family, friends, job
and society at large
at times I may lose control
agitated
or feel sad
burdened with setbacks
or overwhelmed with joy
but I am just a role player
problems can touch me
but should not overpower me
greed and jealousy unavoidable
in a society of haves and have-nots
but that should not derail me
as I am just a role player
I have to walk
amidst the likes and dislikes
let me not carry forward
emotions with me
nobody immune from
ups and downs of life
as earth is rotating and revolving
and everything is changing
GOD has bestowed me
with body and mind
the basic infrastructure of life:
my job is to play the role
in any kind of situation
with grace and love
which is the test of my 'wisdom'
'Time', the real asset for me
with His gift of 'time'
and the pervasive sky
watching me always
I am blessed with energy
to play the desired role
my identity:
I am just a role player.
