Just Listen To The Overture Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Just Listen To The Overture

Germany's Mendelssohn
Was the classical one.
Born early nineteenth century
Music lovers' hearts he won.
With opera and symphony.
And in his teens, he wrote the theme:
A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In Scotland ~ Fingal's Cave
In Italy ~ Italian Symphony.
His piano music we adore
Music without words, a noble score.
With Variations and much more.
Dear Mendelssohn Bartholdy
On Wings of Song
May God be with thee.
