Just My Thoughts Poem by Ray Hansell

He gave his life for his country
I've heard that said a thousand times
Yet every time I hear it
It completely blows my mind

He was killed fighting a war
Because he was ordered there
All the time he was believing
How it all seemed so unfair

The politicians make the choice
Of whom we'll fight in a war
How about from here on out
We send the politicians to foreign shores

He didn't give his life for his country
It was sacrificed by the politicians
They are the one's who put all soliders
In that unenviable position
