Just Trying To Get By Poem by Marvin Tordillos

Just Trying To Get By

Just a stranger alone in the crowd
Walking on his own, lost in his world
That he is in, just focusing on each tread
of his feet to the rhythm of the crowd

He is silent but is quite loud
He is thinking out loud
A million things are processing in his mind
While traversing the crowd

A stranger passes and they bump
but he does not mind
He's asking for food
But he continues on the road

An old lady is walking by
Trying to cross the pedestrian line
He continues on and does not mind
He just crosses quickly through the crowd

He passes by a child
Asking strangers to buy him bread
But he just continues on ahead
Never pausing in his stride

He goes on and rides a bus
There's an elder looking for a seat around
He just doses off and his head nods
Until he reaches his home and the bus stops

He goes on and eat's his food
He then goes on and watches some feeds
And when he's sleepy he goes to bed
A normal day just trying to get by
