Juxtapose Poem by Vishorag Shadja

Juxtapose

Alone, I try scaling the mountain top,
Capped with snow, briefly I had to stop.
Summiting was not as exhilarating,
But, the view was breathtaking.

Soon I felt the oxygen was low,
The view had lost it's glow.
Fast, I had to quickly descend,
The storm looked like world's end.

My embedded footprints were lost,
I signed low with extreme aghast.
The air was colder than ever,
I planned on never coming back here.

The storm was approaching fast,
The blizzard was hard to wade past.
The ground shook and the earth cracked,
And my old shaky bed creaked.

Begging is my body to stay in bed,
Have to get ready for the day ahead,
I try to remember my surreal dream,
Enchanting was the view, I deem.

Being ready for work without delay,
I got excited remembering the payday.
Opening the door I unlocked the garage,
In the car, I planned the work triage.

The workplace was bustling as ever,
Employees working on a new Endeavour.
Opening my cabin, about to get settled,
Bosses' tone on the phone got me unsettled.

Across the long office corridor I walked,
Whilst employees hushed and talked.
Undaunted I knocked on the glass door,
A sly grin the executioner wore.

My tenure in the company was lost,
I sighed with extreme aghast.
The AC air was colder than ever,
But, I was never coming back here.
