Kabuli Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Kabuli

Kabuli

Be my guest, come on in,
Remove masks to see me.

Be honest, talk manly,
Why be bad wolf, deceive?

I know your strategy
Rich, quite devilish!

I am child of mountain
Live like eagles, lions,
Avoid the fox, vultures!

Do not eat what remains
From wounded corpses.

You abuse your soldiers
Of many ranks, grades…

To do so, naturally,
Cover facts, mislead them!

They work in the basement,
And maybe in the tower.

Your soldiers lead planes
With engines, engine-less,
Pour chemicals, gasses!

In the shanty shelters,
My weapon is simple,
IED, sword, dagger,
Yet, avoid using them.

Take the mask and face me
World is best with loving…

All of us can fit in,
So, let us share ceilings,
Feel at home, welcome in,
Food tastes best by sharing.
