Kin Poem by Julian Takali

Kin

In these arms of sinew
Once were you
By your father of dare held
Through the canyons of Gods
Wreaking their mayhem
Splicing blood under the gravel
Such mighty fury can but
Only a father withstand

In these arms of bloom
Now you lay
Lit by your daughter of luster
Through the seas of demons
Spilling shadows in the dew
Tar leaks from our muddy shoes
Such a vile can but
Only a daughter understand
