King Poem by Daniel B Kelleher

King

A baby grew to be a man
A very special man indeed
Helped who wanted help
Fed who wanted to be fed

A leader lived amongst us
As yet not acceptable
Nobles dismissed him
Dismayed by his acceptance

A lone man betrayed him
For 30 pieces of silver
Another denied him
Not once but three times

A darkness descended
Across the lann
They made him king
With a crown of thorns

Nailed to a cross
His mother wept beneath
Cried out to the lord
Forgive them father
They know not what they do
