Kiss In Time! Poem by Leslie Xavier

Kiss In Time!

Your worth is not of this world,
and the promise wasn't a joke!

Like the 'Phiaro', it'll flow,
shimmering diamonds in the sun.
Tall and proud as a Giza mount,
bring on; test of time and eyes.

Khayyam's lines, with honey to brim,
happy in love the verses for you.

Yes, this man will climb up there,
through that fading Coptic wall.
Strumming Rubiaths on those eyes,
angel from that distant land.

Then the claim for that feather touch;
'ha ha'; kiss in time saves nine my dear!

No; let the ticker run, let it sprint;
nine; more favoured than just one kiss.
It's you and if it's from your heart,
gold, my treasure, I'll keep it safe.
