My eyes are open and I can now see
A new life that has been waiting patiently for me.
I open the door and a warm feeling from my head to my feet
I open my arms and hug the first person I meet
He embraces me with his arms of power
Holding on tight and handing me a flower
What took you so long
He says with despair
I was lost, I was confused and life wasn’t fair
It’s okay my child he responds with a smile
Glad you came home. Won’t you stay for awhile?
I leave the door open and then I walk through
I have to go now, there a new path to choose
You are here with me now as I point to my heart
I can go on because you and I will never part
I will tell people about you and I will show them Your way
I will smile when I think of you and when I pray.
Thank you for picking me up when I fell
For opening doors and wishing me farewell
For letting me love and feel horrible pain
Letting me lose yet letting me gain
Teaching me honestly & judging no one anymore
Thank you for all –all that I’ve endured.
Because although sometimes it was more than I could bare
I’m glad I experienced for You and now I really care.
Care for those around me & those far away,
Those who don’t know you and are afraid
I can help them now because you have helped me
I can open my heart, because now I have the key.
I’m not scared, not alone, not sad, there’s no more tears
I’m overjoyed you’ve diminished my fears.
Thank you, I love you, I’m grateful that I now know who You are.
