Koolbar Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Koolbar

Koolbar

The year was ninety nine
At war were Taliban and Iran…

Neither was I Baluch, nor Afghan
Among them I was caught.

Could be killed by each side
Or in chain, tree cut…

Both claimed leadership of Islam
Both of them were lawless
Samples of injustice.

Taking eye from love
Forced to leave and depart
Difficult was and hard.

Season was of this time
Or around
On the way, on the run
Had to go.

Forced was I…

The border was crossed
Useless were all the thoughts
News are always tough
Remember the Cold-War?

White flag was on heights
Carried loads with no shoes
Koolbar men for Halal.

Whose cargo? What in them?
Such games are of borders
Everywhere, all over
Even in USA!

Dollar falls, dollar gains
Chameleons change colour.
