Lady Luck Deserted Him Poem by Francis Duggan

Lady Luck Deserted Him

His life is not going anywhere he was one who dared to dream
Of becoming famous and wealthy and held in high esteem
But lady luck deserted him that's life as some do say
When he needed her she passed him by and from him looked the other way
The business he was trying to build a hardware and white goods shop
Became his financial downfall and proved a costly flop
He worked hard to be successful but sadly for him in vain
But he is not a quitter for success he'll try again
Many in his position have thought about or committed suicide
But such thoughts never cross his mind and of him it cannot be denied
That he is not a trier he rise after a fall
And he fights all the harder when his back is to the wall,
For another business venture he will work hard and money save
And like they say of fortune it does favour the brave.
