Last Night Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Last Night

Last night

Bought tickets for all the family
-plan is a trip to visit relatives
-in Kabul, Kandahar

"There, life is very hard."
"Must help my old parents."
-this is his capital
-work and run
-work and run
-work and run

Love of home in his heart
-calls himself MUSALMAN
- "The Pashto and Sunni own the land."
-he was raised in the dark of Delta

"Is our land and we know…"
-he speaks with deep hate
-of the ones that he sees
-as confirmed enemies
-include all neighbours,
-Pakistan and Iran to China
-to Tajiks and Uzbeks to Russia
-all the way to distanced
-London and USA

Not wealthy, counts the Dimes
-lives, holding background! ! !
-body is here but…not mental
-can't afford to go learn
-has to work his butt off
-to afford paying off
-the tax and daily life

For trip, three months
-he has gone very far
-tickets, gifts and so on
-so, showed off at work
-hopes to earn few bucks…
-even now, final night
-in hours he'll fly…
