Last Night Poem by Tess Rockenstire

Last Night

Last night in the corridor –
Your eyes lighted the whole room.
Bright twinkling like stars,
Aglow painted grim
Just for me.
But then,
All of a sudden
Our body language
Floated in the air,
Silence has power
Only we can tell.
Incandescent light
Burned a romantic passion,
Beneath my skin –
But then,
I turned down
Your proposal to dine
With me –
Fearful for this emotion,
I regress into my cocoon.
