Late Tea Poem by Marilyn Jean

Late Tea

It is late
I wish
I could
Sleep

Right here
Not think one second
Not close my eyes
Collapse

Nor wander again
Back and forth
To see you here or there
Everywhere on my mind

The hot tea disappears
I slowly drink it late
But I am still here
And you too with me

This turns
Cruel
Hot tea won't do
Neither tears

I suffer
More
Nobody can see
But I do

It is too late
For tea
For this
Just go and sleep
