Lawrence, my grand hometown down by the Kaw
Oh, how I love her beauty and her lights
As, once over Pleasent Grove, I behold
The dorms of KU's campus lit up bright
I love the people who take pride in her
How when asked who the best 23 was
MJ doesn't always trump Simien
But, most of all, I love Lawrence because...
She took time to nurture a Kansas boy like me
