Leaving The Promised Land Poem by sam gale

Leaving The Promised Land

Mind filled with anguish
heart filled with despair
soul full of confusion
but nobody cares.

'Please Stay'
to you I pray
with the devil in your eyes
your crusade fades
but nobody cares.

I shone my weakness
and donated my strength
as I fell to my knees
You resurrected
broke me, killed me, destroyed me
but nobody cares.

I search without direction
I wonder the promised land
I seek impossible answers
but nobody cares.

I find a shining metallic star
Draw it close to my skin
as fountains pour ruby red
and darkness shows the end
but nobody cares.

Nothing but a blinding light
that takes me somewhere new
body without feeling
mind without pain
I'm no longer searching
as I leave the promised land.
