Let Me Be Me Poem by Ashley Ayers

Let Me Be Me

Rating: 4.0

You judge me on looks
Nothing but that
Nothing on books
As long as I am, not fat

You think you know me
However, all you know is my mask
However, your okay with what you see
As long as you don’t ask

I am quite different then what you see
I just want to be me
However, if I were would you accept me?

Accept me for me
Not who I have to be?

If you saw me for real
Do you think you would appeal?
To be whom I am now

I am unhappy right now
I want to be the real me
…..would you please accept me for me?
