Letter To My Daughter Poem by Paul Sebastian

Letter To My Daughter

Rating: 5.0

Heart conceived love
I conceived you
Your presence consumed me
My being centred on you
Expecting your coming
My heart, body and soul
Seemed minding you than me
Nine months preparation
For my home-coming princess

I touched heaven at your birth
Labour pains almost took me
Willing to exchange my life for you
Arriving, we both survived
You were our first born
We, even angels, celebrated
As you were gift from heaven

Our bond never waned
You and I are one
Weaved together for life
Entwined in love and friendship

Like budding rose, grown
To be a person of beauty
You enthrall Dad and me
Every step, hop and dance
Watching, our hearts danced
Dear darling, our heart-throb

You are growing to be a fine lady
By God’s love and grace, you are so
God’s bounty for Dad and me
At dawn we offer thanksgiving prayers
Someday, world may need you too
Someday you’ll leave the nest
Cannot imagine how I’d cope
When you are always our hope
Come what may, I will always be
What I have always been…
Your mother

A father is always blissful towards daughter and advises good in letter. Very interesting and nice poem shared. Amazing tribute to both fatherhood and motherhood. Nice and heart touching....10

It is not only a great poem dedicated 'To My Daughter' but to an equally discernible 'Motherhood' also. A tribute to both. Thanks: Come what may, I will always be / What I have always been… / Your mother.
