Letting The Man Up There In Poem by Ray Hansell

Letting The Man Up There In

Our hearts are always in conflict
About the things we should do
I'll do it if it's right for me
With very little thought for you

Our inner struggles at times
Causes tension and strain
We try to resolve our own issues
Often times our attempts are in vain

We are sometimes like the ocean
Our thoughts and ideas tossed about
The more we think and try to resolve them
The more we fill ourselves with doubt

We cannot have inner peace
With constant struggles of the heart
We need someone to light the way
That's how we make a start

We all have inner conflicts and lose our way
But never forget where you've been
There's nothing wrong with opening your heart
Then, letting the Man up there come in
