* LIBERATION!

This entire life of mine lies in bondage, -
In the hands of captive time;
Like a convict condemned for life!
Only a few hours of bail has been granted
to me,
To live breathe, move, and feel free!
Permitted to call this place my own,
While in this transient human form,
In a place where I really don’t belong!
So let me spend my days the best I can,
While I live, love and endure;
Since life imprisonment lies in store!
Before I get held captive once more,
Held in solitary confinement in my dark
cell,
Only God can show His mercy then!
And salvage my soul from the merciless
time’s tide,
To dwell with Him in that eternal light!
