Libertine Street Poem by Ali Rahimi

Libertine Street

I hate rules, orders, regulations, and political correctness,
I detest red lights, stop signs, check points, purges and arrests, detentions,
I shall revolt against lines, borders, boundaries, geographical separateness,
I abhor logic, premises, propositions, rationality, and empirical exactness,
Aristotle’s and Bacon’s: empirical objectivism,
Pythagoras: a2+b2=c2, Galileo’s heliocentrism,
I loath mathematical equations, statisculations, geometric fitness,
Newton’s laws of motion, universal gravitation,
Kant’s reason, morality and goodness, Comte’s objectivism and rightness,
Welcome to hedonism hotel, epicurean spa, bohemian beach, hippies’ corner,
yuppies’ rendezvous, hipster club, libertine street,
I recoil from penalties, fines, red cards, yellow cards, warnings, disqualifications,
I shudder at referees, offside! , most of us are always in human rights offside!
Opinionated, arrogant teachers give me the creeps!
I can’t stand attendance checking, exams, proctors, curricula, norms,
normalizations, academic righteousness,
I can’t tolerate clock ins/clock outs, quality assessments, dress codes, suffocating
strictness,
I utterly rebuke grand theories, communism, materialism, authoritarianism,
totalitarianism,
pragmatism dictating manufactured consent and tedious orderliness,
all melt into sycophantism,
Wanna resort to vandalism, find solace in vagabondism,
Viva Spartacus! , Garibaldi! , Pancho Villa! ,
Long live William Wallace! , Pharaoh Ikhnaton, Martin Luther King,
Nelson Mandela
I dislike hierarchical echelons, power structures, institutions harboring total tameness,
I despise CCTVs, spying hidden cameras, surveillance cameras, supervisions,
Zetta Z12 Intelligent Security Camcorder,
Salute to Robin Hood! , Rosa Parks, Molly Brown, Emily Pankhurst, Malcolm X,
I sadly deplore claustrophobic airports, customs, restricted areas,
Sobriety tests, the nauseating smell of the officer,
‘’I am sober, officer’’, ‘’I am as sober as a judge’’! , bugger off!
Spanish Inquisition of morality police enrages me,
They pry into my most intimate territories,
Sweaty hands of the police searching my crotch and rubbing my G-spot,
I resent uniforms, marches, medals, decorations, red badges of courage,
Menacing eyes of the officer casting fear at powerless folks,
I hate it, I hate it.
Generation Rage, Generation Fury, Generation Wrath shall cleanse
The earth from the slime of oppressors.
