Life After Death Poem by Kewayne Wadley

His voice beckoned to her across the plastered hallway
Her steps studdered with uncertainty
The bruise around her eye still ached from moments ago
The voices from her phone silenced as they no longer picked up
Again he called to her as she refused to turn around
The impact of his fist still fresh on her mind
The darkness that quickly flashed and took over the sight of her right eye from the impact of his hand
she held her breath as
The hurt from whom she loved toggled with fear
regret
Tears streamed down her face as she sought release
Afraid to lose the love that didn't love her back
lost moments of pleasure raped by hands that used her endlessly
The trails of her tears dried white with the nights she stayed awake crying herself to sleep
wishing she was dead or yet that she could leave the situation behind
her family turned their backs as they helped as much as they could
But
Alast the woman they knew and loved was dead as she became a stranger to them
their own flesh
blood
His voice soon turned to a yell as she jumped with fear
She saw herself at a crossroad
filled with memories of a happier time
That he was still the same person whom helped her at the worst moment of her life
Forcing herself to believe that he was all she had to lean on
Afraid to be alone
Her heart started to rush as he made his way into the hallway
The tears came rushing back as fear over took her steps as he caught her before she could reach the door
Harsh words felt the air
degraded her
his hand soon follwed
stripped her of any sensibility
his hands struck her endlessly
She continued to bend to his will as she couldn't find life outside of him
As she only longed life after death
as life wasn't life to her anymore
