Life, An Illusion Poem by Sasha Claire Beckains

Life, An Illusion

Life is like an endless
journey of wonders,
an adventurous dream,
an illusion.

A walk down an unknown
path, through autumn leaves,
a swoop of cool breeze
through your loose hair.

As you walk, your path turns
gray and gloomy. You look
around for some comfort but
you don't find any.

You keep walking and as you
do, you come out to a field
of flowers that bloom as you
walk passed them.

A ray of sun hits your beauty
and fills you with confidence.
A hope to keep pressing on.

You're in a crowd of strangers,
alone you stand with a unique
personality. You are your own,
special self.

You make choices that no one
else dares to try, you create
a world that's for your own.

As you reach the end,
you look back at all your
accomplishments, the beauty
that you have left behind.

You look back at your struggles,
your gloomy, weary days, and
know that you can overcome
them.

So as you go on, passed life's
great adventures, you come to a
whole new world, a whole new
beginning...with Jesus.
