I like to write my poems
And have them rhyme
And to do that takes more than a while
I often find the words to say
But they always look too plain
I write and wipe
I think and type
I think so hard
And stare so wide
Some words do carry weight
And some come off with wings
Flying through so smoothly
Landing on padded floors
Life as a poet is fun to know
The more you write
The brighter your imagination glows
Being a poet is a priceless gift
A gift worthy to be shared
With the rest of the world
