Life In Danger Poem by Prasanta Kumar Mahapatra

Life In Danger

Whenever I go out from home
A question always come to my mind,
'Can I come back safely,
Or get crushed in a landslide? '

I have to ride a long way
'Shall I meet with an accident? '
As nobody cares for the rules
Of the road safety to avoid such incident.

Before I come back home
I'm afraid it would be too dark,
And there would be robbery and murder
Or else any other mishap.

'Shall I be kidnapped
By Maoists and trapped in a jungle,
Or an opportunist who wants
To earn money without any struggle? '

Whenever we go out from home
Our lives are always in danger.
Can't we change our society,
Which can make our living better?
