Life Is A Mystery Poem by Jay Alexander

Life Is A Mystery

I've a talent for walking into doors,
But also am very good at avoiding
Blue scorpions.
At the job centre I ask for work
Circumnavigating life,
I get vacant looks………

I step out and join another queue
Someone jostles me and says:
" Hey! don't I know you from school? "
I say: " Maybe, maybe not! "
"Then we met at the Gates of Mycenae.
Look here's a photo of us together.
It's dusk and there in the corner is a bunch of midgets! "

I know what I know, but will I learn more,
I'm tired of waiting. In the meantime, life
Goes on with it's up's, down's, in's and out's,
But one thing is certain, this boxer's glove that
Glides past my left ear, doesn't mean I'm in a
Boxing ring.
