Limerick: There Was A Young Lady Of Niger Poem by William Cosmo Monkhouse

Limerick: There Was A Young Lady Of Niger

Rating: 2.9

There was a young lady of Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger;
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.

There are no tigers in Niger, but I suppose that's not important right now.

Yeah! Sad. But, what about times when William Cosmo Monkhouse wrote this poem - that's probably during 1865's?

Chanted this as a child. I still think it’s fun to say to my grandchildren. 🤗
