'Lines' Poem by Kiki Marie

'Lines'

Her body is like a road map.
Lines going in every direction.
Faded lines. New lines. Lots of lines.
Some deeper than others.
Some just on the surface.
Each line has its own story.
School. Friends. Family. Sports.
The lines aren't visible if you're not looking.
They hide behind layers of clothes.
On thighs. Near hips. Beside ankles.
When the lines are made strange feelings follow.
Anger. Guilt. Relief. Saddness.
Now she begins to isolate heself.
Telling her best friend she doesn't want to be anymore.
No longer being the social butterfly she once was.
Something is really wrong.
But, what is there to do?
