Lion Kiss Poem by Lamar Cole

They looked so sweet.
As he gave the lion a kiss.
The lion thought that his lips tasted sweet.
She thought that the rest of him would taste just as good.
He was her best friend.
And she thought that best friends would make the best meals.
She was going to be very kind.

She would make his death swift.
She did not want him to suffer too much.
She was a very thoughtful lion.
So one day when he least expected it.
She sank her teeth deep into his neck.
He was very surprised.
How could his best friend do this to him.

He could feel his life slowly leaving him.
He knew that he was about to die.
She looked lovingly and hungrily into his eyes.
Her look telling him to hurry up and die.
Because her stomach was growling.
And she hoped that he would make a delicious meal.
