Little Bluebird Poem by RIC BASTASA

Little Bluebird

everyday
little bluebird
you must sing

forced, and
disoriented your song
is the sound of skidding
tires
along the rocky road
as if trying to save
scattered lives.

this early morning
you sing a screech
like a leech sucking beech
in order to
just survive.
