Little Red Comet Poem by Atticus Poetry

Little Red Comet

She turned my heart to ash,
sent from the heavens
on a bright red comet.
A chariot to trample
my soul into the sand
leaving nothing but
glass for me to walk upon.
— And yet I loved the feeling,
because it was a feeling,
and it was true.
It was the realist feeling
I had ever felt.
It hurt more than
anything had before,
but inside it made me laugh,
for I knew it was karma
standing before me,
penance, for a lifetime
of broken hearts,
and here it was,
to shake my hand,
and shackle my soul.
