Living Dead Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Living Dead

No one knows
The time
That you and I
Passed through
Blaming
Or appreciating
By calling
Good or bad
Whatever the name
Be it called.

No one knows
The time
That you and I
Passed through
People having with
While without-
You and I
I'm like you
And you like me
Feeling hungry
Thirsty and starved
With no fate
Fortune
Or favourable stars.

No one knows
The time
That you and I
Passed through-
With no hope
After the breakfast
Of getting
Lunch or dinner
And no one ready
To understand
The state of mind.

No one knows
The time
That you and I
Passed through-
Always
Living in scarcity
Dreaming of prosperity
Into emptiness
Leavening
The same in emptiness.

No one knows
The time
That you and I
Passed through
Living the life
Life of a living dead
The passersby
Leaving comments
Of their own choice-
Feeling mortified
Embarrassed
Of coming into life.
